SARAH’S KEY (2011)
In modern-day Paris, Julia is an American journalist married to a Frenchman, and commissioned to write about the notorious Vel d’Hiv round up, which took place in 1942 Paris. She stumbles upon a family secret which links her forever to the destiny of a young Jewish girl, Sarah. Julia learns that the apartment she and her husband Bertrand plan to move into was acquired by his family when its Jewish occupants were dispossessed and deported 60 years before. She resolves to uncover more about the young girl and her family, France’s history and finally, herself.
