Kirk Muspratt, Music Director & Conductor
Featuring Guest Violinist Esme Arias-Kim

Award-winning, 16-year-old violinist Esme Arias-Kim performs Korngold’s virtuoso Violin Concerto in D Major, Op. 35. Master film composer of Hollywood’s golden age Erich Korngold transformed his movie themes into one of the best-loved concertos of the 20th century. Finlandia, Jean Sibelius’ tone poem depicting the historical struggles of the Finnish people and George Enescu’s joyful Rumanian Rhapsody No. 1 combining traditional folksongs complete the program.

Join COD Music professor Steve Pierson for a pre-concert lecture one hour prior to each concert. Mr. Pierson will lead a discussion providing insight on Korngold’s concerto and other featured selections.
