About the Ensemble: Percussion Ensemble is a chamber ensemble that studies and performs repertoire written specifically for the percussion family as well as transcriptions adaptable to percussion. No audition necessary.

About the Director: Ben Wahlund is a Grammy nominated, award-winning music educator, composer and performer who lives in the Chicago area. He earned a master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition and a Performance Certificate in percussion from Northern Illinois University. His compositions have placed in numerous competitions, including the Quey Percussion Duo Annual Composition Contest and the Percussive Arts Society International Composition Contest. Wahlund is a percussion specialist for Naperville School District 203, where he directs the NCHS Drumshow, a high school percussion ensemble concert that draws more than 2,000. He enjoys teaching private students in his home studio – Black Dog Music Studio www.blackdogmusicstudio.com.
