34 years of drama, suspense, passion, laughs and love.
Dear Friends of BTE,
First and most importantly, we miss you and sincerely hope that you’re coping well during this unprecedented time. We realize and appreciate, even more right now, our times together, as fellow travelers in the adventure of outstanding theatre.
Secondly, we wanted you to know that BTE has continued to work tirelessly navigating the uncharted waters, as a result of the Coronavirus and its implications.
Restore Illinois was published just as our Season Announcement dropped. Immediately, it became even more evident that there would be unprecedented repercussions to the way we audition, design, rehearse, perform and stage manage our productions, as well as extreme financial implications.
BTE’s mission in the production of high quality theatre is driven by a commitment to educate and provide a forum for community, students and artists to intimately explore new and provocative ideas; the health crisis severely alters our ability to be successful, with artistic decisions that need to be made many months ahead of each production.
BTE’s dedicated Board of Trustees met to review and discuss all of this, and its implications. With heavy hearts, it was decided that BTE will go on hiatus for this coming season, given all of the uncertainty of COVID19 and its effects on how we can operate, to return strongly in Fall ‘21.
We are deeply saddened, but believe this to be an understandable and responsible decision, and we wanted to let you, our extended family, know immediately. We’re also beginning to work on ways that we can keep connected during this fall, winter and spring, and will share with you, so that you can join us, as soon as they’re more formulated. We won’t be absent, but engaging with you in different ways in the coming months.
No orders have been processed to date and any checks which have been sent into the Box Office can be shredded, sent back at your request, or converted to a donation to BTE at your request. The Box Office can be contacted by email at BTEorders@cod.edu or you can leave a message at 630-942-3008.
We want to thank you for your continued belief in BTE. With great hope, determination, and a continued commitment to producing outstanding theatre, together, we look forward to welcoming you back to share our stories with a full season in Fall ‘21.
Please feel free to keep in touch via Facebook or BTEchicago.com.
