Offering an Associate in Arts degree, the College Theater department offers a variety of courses including Acting, Acting for the Camera, Audition, Combat, Dance Theatre, Directing, Improvisation, Improvisation for Case Studies, Stagecraft, Stage Management, Stage Movement, Stage Make-up, Technical Production, Theater Appreciation and VoiceOver Acting. AUDITIONS:

Audition deadline: Friday, Jan 15 by 5pm
Cast notifications emailed on Saturday, Jan 16 by 12pm

First rehearsal for both productions: Monday, Jan 18 at 7pm

General Auditions for Under Milk Wood, by Dylan Thomas, and War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast, adapted by Joe Landry will be held by virtual submission, by Friday January 15, at 5pm. Under Milk Wood is being directed by Theater Department Chair Connie Canaday Howard, and War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast is being directed by Theater Professor Amelia Barrett. (Both productions will be rehearsed and performed completely virtually.)

NO EXPERIENCE IS NECESSARY!
The shows are classes. If cast, you must register for Theater 1120 (or 1121). E-permits will be sent to registration, for you to register, following auditions.

NOTE: You will be auditioning for both shows, when you submit your audition. Schedules for the projects will be created after seeing all the audition forms, so please be thorough in noting conflicts. You will need to attach a completed audition form, with your video audition.

2. Choose a monologue from each show to memorize, read, and film. Please save your file as “YourName-Monologues-Spring21.”

3. Submit your application via Dropbox (https://tinyurl.com/CTauditions) OR email to CTauditions@cod.edu (subject line: Your Name – Spring ’21 Auditions) and be sure to attach audition form and monologue videos.

Under Milk Wood streamed performance dates are Feb 25 – Mar 7, 2021.
War of the Worlds: The Panic Broadcast streamed performance dates are April 15 – 25, 2021.

All cast members will be notified by email, by their director, of casting, by noon on Saturday, 1/16. First rehearsals for both shows will be Monday, 1/18 at 7P, and the respective links will be sent to each cast member in that email. Registration will need to happen by noon, Thursday, 1/21, and electronic permits will be sent by each director on Monday evening, following first rehearsal, so that cast members can accomplish this.
