We welcome you to perform with us. Each semester (fall, spring, and summer) the college academic departments in Dance, Music, and Theater offer classes you can enroll in to be part of the fun. See below for each department’s process and contact information.

THEATER

Each semester (fall, spring and summer), COD Theater Department stages two productions. Auditions are held at the beginning of each academic term. Call 630.942.3008 or email CTauditions@cod.edu to be added to the audition email list. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY! If cast, you must register for a COD class.

To prepare for auditions, download and fill out two audition forms and bring to auditions in MAC 188. We will do a short orientation. Be prepared to Sing a prepared 32 bars, Dance, and do group Improvisations. Sides will be provided with callback list. Callbacks are by invitation only and actors will be emailed on Friday night.

Synopsis: Lace up your “glass” saddle shoes and step into the sock-hop sensation at Fairy-Tale High! Join Cindy as she trades in her poodle skirt for a dazzling gown to wear at the Homecoming dance hosted by teen-celebrity Elvis Charming. Can Cindy’s star-studded night lead to a happily ever after? Audiences will be rooting for Cindy as she discovers the power of kindness in this 50s inspired twist on the classic Cinderella tale.

Performance Dates: July 5 – July 14, 2024 (Playhouse Theatre)

Synopsis: A hilarious, interactive whodunit mystery musical that asks the audience to enter the action and become the ultimate detectives. Everyone on stage is a suspect in the murder of young and charming Edwin Drood. Is it John Jasper, Edwin’s protective and maniacal uncle? Rosa Bud, his reluctant betrothed? The debauched Princess Puffer? Or someone else even more dastardly and villainous? Based on Charles Dickens’ final unfinished novel, this play-within-a-play is sure to intrigue where the ending of each performance is up to you!
