MAC CANCELS EVENTS AS COVID-19 PRECAUTIONARY MEASURE AND RESPONDS WITH FREE LIVE STREAMING PRODUCTION OF DRUM TAO 2020

Frida Kahlo 2020 Exhibition Scheduled to Open as Planned Monday, June 1
GLEN ELLYN, Ill. – In concert with the College of DuPage leadership, the MAC holds the health and safety of its students, community and patrons as a first priority. The College of DuPage has announced that “Effective immediately, all events (internal, hosted and rental at the main campus, COD regional centers, and the MAC) for the remainder of the spring 2020 semester are canceled.”
In recognition of the public need for entertainment, especially at this time, the MAC and Columbia Artists have collaborated on an innovative way to offer theater audiences the opportunity to view a free Facebook Live broadcast performance of DRUM TAO 2020 direct from the MAC’s Belushi Performance Hall, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 14. Viewers wishing to express their gratitude for the chance to catch this amazing ensemble via Facebook Live at facebook.com/AtTheMAC are encouraged to make a donation to the MAC. More than 8 million spectators across the world have experienced TAO’s critically acclaimed, high-energy performances. Combining highly physical, large-scale Japanese drumming with contemporary costumes, and innovative choreography.
McAninch Arts Center (MAC) has announced it is canceling performances through May 15. Canceled shows include:
- COD College Theater’s “Scenes from an Execution” (March 13, 14, 15)
- Lewis Black:” It Gets Better Every Day” (March 14)
- DRUM TAO 2020 (March 15)
- U.S. Army Band and Soldier’s Chorus Free Concert (March 17)
- Visiting Artist Series-Mary Mattingly (March 18)
- COD College Theater’s “Clue” (March 26-April 5)
- New Philharmonic: “A Salute to Frida” (April 18-19)
The MAC Box Office will be contacting all paid ticket holders via email with directions how to exchange their tickets or receive a credit. Ticket holders are asked to be please be patient as they work through this process which will provide details on how to process their credit or refund.
Please note that Frida Kahlo 2020 exhibition presented by the Cleve Carney Museum of Art and the McAninch Arts Center at the College of DuPage will open as scheduled June 1 and continue through August 31. Tickets and additional information is available at FridaKahlo2020.org.
