Then Is Now keeps alive the big band traditional sound with updated arrangements by jazz greats Duke Ellington, Nat King Cole, Oscar Peterson, George Gershwin and more. The ensemble features internationally renowned trumpeter Jens Lindemann, saxophonist/vocalist Matt Catingub, drummer Steve Moretti, and DCJE Artists-in-Residence Roy McGrath, Luke Malewicz, Dave Katz, and Chris Siebold. The highlight of the concert is Catingub’s arrangement of the Gershwin classic Rhapsody In Blue featuring internationally renowned pianist Inna Faliks who is described as, “a concert pianist of the highest order…as dramatic or as subtle as a great stage actor.” Climb on board for a ride through a classic era that feels as fresh today as it did then!
