Percussion Ensemble concert will feature an array of traditional percussion instruments as well as some unlikely sounds. Including Every Little Thing She Does is Magic by Sting/The Police, arranged by Wahlund, Clapping Music by Steve Reich and Pipe Dreams by Wayne Lytle, arranged by Wahlund.

Come experience an exciting and eclectic mix of world drumming, pop arrangements, original compositions for percussion ensemble, and classics from the minimalist schools. Please join us for a raucous, good time!

About the Ensemble: Percussion Ensemble is a chamber ensemble that studies and performs repertoire written specifically for the percussion family as well as transcriptions adaptable to percussion. No audition necessary.

About the Director: Ben Wahlund is a Grammy nominated, award-winning music educator, composer and performer who lives in the Chicago area. He earned a master’s degree in Music Theory and Composition and a Performance Certificate in percussion from Northern Illinois University. His compositions have placed in numerous competitions, including the Quey Percussion Duo Annual Composition Contest and the Percussive Arts Society International Composition Contest. Wahlund is a percussion specialist for Naperville School District 203, where he directs the NCHS Drumshow, a high school percussion ensemble concert that draws more than 2,000.
